A styled shoot is an event that is started with an idea that is sparked by a vision. This styled shoot was sparked by the vision where vintage rustic, meets glam. And thanks to our vendors, the vision was made a reality.
A few months ago, I was blessed enough to be a part of a gorgeous styled shoot organized by Shoot for Passion; an amazing group of local photographers who's purpose is to build up fellow creatives. This particular shoot was made possible by Courtney with CMS Photography. The whole event was a blast and featured nearly 20 different vendors. I was inspired.
When I am not doing my photography, or at North Main AH, I am working with local businesses on their branding and marketing. I saw an opportunity to create some great advertising material specifically for a flower shop I work with, so the vision was turned into an idea. And after contacting a few other local vendors, the idea was made into reality!
After some kinks in the location, we were able to land an amazing venue thanks to a personal friend who works there as a Sales Event Manager. Our session took place among the beautiful views and vineyards of Lake Creek Winery in gorgeous Marthasville, Missouri.
I was particularly excited to work with Lake Creek Winery because of my past work history in a vineyard, and because of the fact that this winery is an up and coming wedding destination that is perfect for a bride looking for a venue with gorgeous views, friendly hosts, that is within an hour from the city.
The venue boasts arguably some of the best views in the county, with rolling vineyards, views overlooking the Missouri River Valley, a grand rustic barn, modern pergola, giant chess set, and a fantastic view overlooking a working farm pasture, complete with cute friendly cows, and a lake.
As for our vendors, I am convinced that Missouri has some of the friendliest business owners in the country. Since I am local to the Troy/Winfield area, my goal was to book vendors that were local to my area to support my local community.
As creative as I am with my photography, designing wedding details is not a strong suit. I decided to go with very simple details, and knew our vendors would do a great job with the rest.
This particular cake was a gorgeous piece made by Lydia Allen, the extremely talented creative behind Sweetie Pie's Bakery, located in Wentzville, MO. She does an amazing job with the simplest of cakes, or the most elaborately decorated masterpieces you can imagine. We were both excited to collaborate on this simple three tier cake featuring floral details. Lydia was explaining that the greenery is so IN!
Elderberry place in O'Fallon, MO was kind enough to lend us this sweet little cake table as well as our sweetheart head table. They rent out vintage furniture for different events, but their real forte is their home decor, paints, and vintage pieces. Could seriously browse their storefront for hours.
As far as our gorgeous florals, those were provided by the gifted florists at Charlotte's Flowers and Gifts in downtown Troy, MO. You may not have seen them before because they are off the beaten path, but they have so much to offer. Walking into their store feels like walking into a family members home. So graciously greeted, treated like family the whole time you are there, and you get absolutely everything you hoped for and more. I am so blessed to be able to work with a shop like this.
Speaking of blessed, you may have noticed that we were very blessed with a gorgeous model, Alex is a friend of mine from High School, and after her participating in another shoot I did with her and her girlfriends, I knew I had to ask her to be our bride. She was so amazing as to say yes! Her look was brought to life by the amazing Bailey Meyers, with STL Glam CO LLC. Bailey did a stunning job with Alex's make-up and created a beautiful style straight from your Pinterest board dreams.
Alex's bridal look of course would have not been complete without this Alfred Angelo piece graciously provided by Elegance Made Simple in Troy, MO. Working with Elegance Made Simple was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. They provided not one, but two gowns, as well as veils, and headpieces to boot. This little shop is nestled in the downtown Troy shopping strip and is one of my personal favorite shops in the Troy area.
Check out the rest of this gorgeous day!
